COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES
November 4, 2010
The Charter Review Committee – Form of Government Study
Committee met at 4:30 pm on November 4, 2010. Present during the meeting were Resident Committee Members Sue Kettler and Bob Luther, Industrial Representative Committee Members Robin Novak and Gary Acton, Councilmember, Committee Member Chris Schaefer, and Jack Cameron, Administrative Assistant to the Mayor.
The only task left from the prior meeting was the task of recommending the name for a position relating to Village Development. After an ongoing discussion about possible names, Robin Novak suggested that if representatives of a business, not familiar with the structure of Evendale, were seeking to discuss development, the term “Administrative Assistant to the Mayor” tends to denote a clerical position. She suggested that “Development Director” or “Director of Development” would give the business representatives greater assurance that they were speaking with the proper village representative.
Bob Luther moved that the committee report be adopted recommending against putting the Village Manager issue on the ballot, but also recommend that the position of Director of Development be established. Sue Kettler seconded the motion. The motion was unanimously adopted. The committee members signed the report to Council and the meeting adjourned at 5:30 pm.
